Men's soccer takes second straight at home, 1-0
BC defeated Queen's 1-0 on Monday
Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College men’s soccer team won their second straight game at home on Monday night. The Tornados were able to defeat the Royals of Queen’s University-Charlotte by a score of 1-0. The win takes the Brevard to 3-12-1 overall on the season after defeating the non-conference foe.
The only goal in the match came within the first four minutes of play. Sean Allison (Santa Rosa, Calif.) took a pass from Scott Schuurman (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and kicked the ball in mid-air to beat the keeper placing the ball into the right side of the net. It was Allison’s first goal of the season and Schuurman added his second assist of the year.
Brevard took the 1-0 lead and never looked back as they shut out the Royals. Brevard outshot Queen’s 10-9 in the first half and played great defense in the second half as they held the Royals to eight shots, withoutt allowing a goal.
Pauli Jussila (Valkeakoski, Finland) played he entire game in net for Brevard picking up his first win of the season. Jussila made five saves for Brevard.
The Tornados hit the road on Wednesday as they head to Dahlonega, Georgia to square off with North Georgia. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m.
