Tornados take three singles matches in falling to Limestone, 6-3

Gaffney, S.C. - Scott McCormick, Jarred Fisher and Shane Apps all recorded singles victories, but it was not enough as the Tornados fell on Tuesday afternoon to host Limestone College, 6-3.

The Saints (4-4) took all three doubles matches, holding the 3-0 advantage heading into singles competition.

McCormick led the Tornados (1-3) in singles play, defeating Miguel Lopez Zuniga at the #1 position in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 to help record Brevard’s first point. Fisher and Apps also recorded three set victories, but the Saints proved to be victories at the #2, #3 and #5 spots to win the match.

Brevard returns home to the McCoy Tennis Complex on the campus of Brevard College as they take on Division I UNC Asheville on Thursday, March 3rd. Doubles competition begins at 2:30 p.m.
