Hoard and Stamper move up in final day of the Tusculum Invitational
Tornados finish 18th overall in field
Greeneville, Tenn. - The Brevard College men’s golf team topped SAC opponent Mars Hill in the Tusculum Invitational as all four athletes improved on their first round scores in the final round of the two-day event.
T.J. Hoard and Michael Stamper made the most improvement on the day, carding matching 74s after recording 82s in the first round to finish in a tie for 69th overall in the tournament. Jonathan Poole also improved by seven strokes to finish with a 159 for the event, while Thomas Rennie also recorded a 159 to finish in a tie for 87th overall.
The Tornados finished the tournament by carding a two round score of 630 to finish 18th overall in the field.
Brevard remains on the links this week as they begin the Montreat Invitational tomorrow morning at the Glen Cannon Country Club in Brevard, N.C. First round action begins at 8 a.m. in the two day tournament.
