Women's Soccer adds one more for 2011 season
Rodriguez joins the Tornados for the fall campaign
Brevard, N.C. - Brevard College Head Women's Soccer Coach Shigeyoshi Shinohara is pleased to announce the commitment of Josie Rodriguez to come to Brevard College and join the women's soccer team for the 2011-2012 season.
Rodriguez joins the Tornados from Vilseck, Germany, where she played under Coach Kevin Anglim at Vilseck High School. Rodriguez was awarded the Best Defender award for three years and also received the Falcon Award during her time with the Falcons and she was also an All-Region First Team selection. Rodriguez also participated in basketball and cross country, where she was a two-time Falcon award winner. Off the pitch, Rodriguez was on the 3.0-3.5 Honor Roll for two years.
"I am very delighted that Josie has decided to join our 2011 recruiting class," commented Coach Shinohara. "She is not only athletic but also works very hard. Her motivation will take her far in this game and will also help to push those around her. In addition, she excels in the classroom and will join the IWIL program here at Brevard.I am excited to see her grow as a leader in both our program and this college in the future."
The Tornados begin the 2011 season on the pitch on August 19th as they head down to Central, S.C. to take on Southern Wesleyan University in a preseason exhibition.
