Tornados fall on the road in conference play, 3-0
Webster records eight saves in loss to Wingate
Wingate, N.C. - Brittany Webster tied a season high with eight saves and Lizzie Graham led the Tornados offense, but the Tornados were unable to overcome Wingate on the road this weekend as they fell to the Bulldogs, 3-0.
Wingate (8-2, 3-0 SAC) challenged Brevard (2-10, 0-6 SAC) goalkeeper Webster early recording four shots before Meaghan Barry found the back of the net, drilling a shot from the top of the box at the 10:20 mark to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.
Chandler Murphy gave the Bulldogs their second goal in the first half off the assist from Kelly Adams, receiving the ball on the cross in front of the goal at the 34:11 mark to give Wingate the 2-0 advantage in the first half.
Graham fired the first shot of the second half at the 47:38 mark, but her attempt went wide left as the Tornados were unable to get on the scoreboard.
Hannah Holsclaw recorded the final point of the match, heading Megan Mastalerz’s cross into the net at the 51:26 mark to give the Bulldogs the final 3-0 tally.
Brevard returns home to the BC Soccer Field on Wednesday, October 12th, as they host Anderson University in SAC action. Kickoff between the Tornados and the Trojans is set for 2 p.m.
