Tornados Turned Away at Carson-Newman

Jefferson City, Tenn.- The Brevard College volleyball team dropped their match with the Carson-Newman Eagles in straight sets on Thursday night, 25-22, 25-10, 25-21.

The Tornados played the Eagles extremely tough in the first set, rallying from a 4-0 defecit to start the set to eventually take a 22-20 lead. However, Carson-Newman won the next five points to steal the set and the momentum.

After a sluggish performance in the second set, BC rebounded in the third set to lead as late as 17-16. With the set tied at 19-19, the Eagles pulled away with a 4-0 run to seal the victory.

Freshman Fatima Gharachorloo led the Tornados with eight kills, followed by Jamie Atkinson and Kortney Conner who both had six.

The Tornados are back on the court on Saturday as they visit the Lincoln-Memorial Railsplitters on Saturday, September 29th at 2 p.m.
