Brevard Competes at UNC Asheville Invitational

Asheville, N.C.- The Brevard College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the UNC Asheville Invitational on Saturday morning.

Five men ran the 8K course for the Tornados, with Patrick Helmick and Jordan Tager placing 13th and 15th, respectively. Helmick finished the 8K course in 27:42.03 while Tager trailed closely with a time of 27:43.95.

Angela Canale and Hannah Cook both ran season-best times for the women, running the 5K course in 20:11.14 and 20:19.66, respectively. Both runners earned finishes in the top 25, with Canale at 21st and Cook at 23rd.

"We had a lot of season best performances and a lot of improvement," said head coach Thomas Cason. "We look forward to have our entire team race at Furman this upcoming weekend."

Their next meet is the Furman Invitational on Saturday, October 6th at 8:30 a.m.
