Cook Named Freshman of the Year , Women Take 6th at SAC Championship
Canaled Named to All-SAC First Team

Greeneville, Tenn.- Hannah Cook earned Freshman of the Year honors for the South Atlantic Conference with her third place finish in the 2012 Food Lion SAC Championship on Saturday morning, while the Tornados women's cross country team finished sixth overall.
The sixth place finish for the Tornados represents Brevard's best finish at the SAC tournament since joining the conference.
"The women ran incredible," said head coach Thomas Cason. "They all pulled together and made conference history for our program."
Cook finished the 5K course in 20:00.4, pacing the Tornados and finishing just :33 behind SAC runner of the year Keeley Wood of Wingate. Cook was also named the SAC All-Freshman Team.
The freshman was trailed closely by teammate Angela Canale, who finished the race in sixth place with a time of 20:25.8. Canale was placed on the All-SAC First Team for her accomplishments in 2012.
