Misenheimer, N.C.- Brevard's Champ Stuart hit a two-run homer with two outs in the top of the 9th inning off Pfeiffer closer Jacob Yates to make it a two-run game, but the Tornados couldn't push any more runs across in their 6-4 loss on Tuesday afternoon.
Stuart's homer plated Christian Christopolous, who walked with one out. Stuart also hit a solo shot to lead off the 3rd inning to break a scoreless tie and put the Tornados up 1-0. The junior finished 2-for-5 with 3 RBI's.
The Falcons answered in their half of the 3rd inning with three runs against BC starter Joe Lepore (L, 0-1). Kevin Price led off with a double to left-center before Johnny Brown, Jr. singled to put runners at the corners. Aarin Sharpe, Kyle Hackney, and Jon Gray delivered RBI singles to give the Falcons a 3-1 lead.
Pfeiffer picked up another run in the 4th on a Brown, Jr. sacrifice fly.
Brennan Daniels made it a 4-2 game with a solo homer in the top of the 6th, but Pfeiffer scored two runs on two hits and a walk in the bottom of the 6th.
The Tornados will visit Lenoir-Rhyne this weekend to open their 2013 South Atlantic Conference schedule, with the opening game at 6 p.m. on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday.
