BC Men's Golf Adds Tom Rennie to 2008 Signing Class
Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College athletics department along with the head men’s golf coach Dave Nelson are excited to announce the signing of Tom Rennie to a National Letter of Intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Brevard College beginning in the fall of 2008.
Rennie, who comes to Brevard College from Aberdeen, Scotland, is a very experienced golfer having competed in a number of tournaments at the junior level.
Rennie has a very impressive resume as he won the Deeside Men’s Club Championship recently, becoming the youngest player ever to win the event. In 2007, Rennie won the N.E. Junior Pennant League Final, while in 2005 he was the Deeside Junior Club Champion. Rennie was selected for the under 16/17 Scottish Training squad and currently holds the Deeside Course Record, as he turned in a round of 67 in 2004.
"Tom is yet another outstanding recruit from Scotland we've been fortunate to sign,” commented Coach Nelson. “His tournament experience at the junior level in Scotland has prepared him well for colligate golf. We anticipate he will be very competitive immediately".
Last season, the Brevard College men’s golf team had a very strong season, which was concluded by a fourth-place finish in the 2008 South Atlantic Conference Championship tournament.
