BC Tennis holds community tennis mixer

Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College tennis teams hosted a community tennis mixer Sunday, October 26 at the Brevard Racquet Club. Eighteen members of the Brevard community teamed with student-athletes from the Tornado tennis teams to play a mixed-doubles tournament. The mixer was a great opportunity for members of the Brevard community to meet and greet Tornado tennis players as well as head coach Paul Thomson.

"I want to personally thank all of the folks who participated last Sunday," said Thomson, who coaches both the men's and women's teams. "It was a great event and a perfect example of the Division II pillar of community engagement. It was a time of good tennis, good food, and most importantly, great fellowship."

The Tornado men's team went 9-11 in 2007-08, and won two duals matches in their '08 fall season. The Tornado women went 13-8 last season and also picked up two wins this fall. The spring season begins February 11 at North Georgia College & State University.
