Brevard College Cycling Team Hosts Home Road Race This Weekend

Brevard, N.C.- The Brevard College cycling team will host a home road race this weekend, with races starting from Rosman High School and downtown Brevard.

The two-day event, which will include colleges and universities from throughout the southeast, will run Saturday, March 23 through Sunday, March 24.

The weekend will include Individual and Team Time Trials, a Road Race and a Criterium.

The event begins Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. with Individual and Team Time Trials. Racers will begin at Rosman High School in 30-second intervals to complete one lap of a 15 mile loop.

The Road Race will also start from Rosman High School on Saturday afternoon, with the Men’s A, Men’s B, and Women’s A races beginning at noon.  Men’s C and Women’s B races will begin at 3 p.m.

The Criterium event will take place on Sunday morning through downtown Brevard. Racers will start the .7-mile track on Caldwell Street, turn onto Probart Street and then Railroad Avenue before finishing the loop on King Street. 

For the Criterium event, the Men’s C event will begin at 9 a.m.; followed by the Women’s B at 9:50 a.m.; and the Men’s B at 10:35 a.m. The Women’s A will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Men’s A at 12:35 p.m.
