Dillman and Labus Win Final Matches at BC

Brevard, N.C.- Brevard College women’s tennis seniors Claire Dillman and Elise Labus won the final matches of their careers at BC in helping the Tornados defeat Carson-Newman 5-4 on Friday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex.

To get things started for BC, Labus paired with Katie Ouellette on the second doubles court to defeat Carson-Newman’s Haleigh Chastain and Jennifer Ott 8-4. Meanwhile on the first singles court, Dillman partnered with Michelle Prata to hand C-N’s Stefy Stand and Patricia Guerreiro an 8-6 loss.

In singles action, Dillman crushed Stand 6-0, 6-0 on the first singles court while Labus handled Ott 6-2, 6-2 on the singles court number four. Prata clinched the 5-4 win for the Tornados with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Guerreiro on the singles court number two.

Dillman finishes the season with a 13-4 singles record, including a 7-2 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. Labus ends 2013 with a 7-9 record, and a 4-5 mark in SAC play.

Prata and Dillman finished with a 7-2 record as a pair in conference doubles play on the year.
