Tornados Finish 6th in SAC Tournament, Koivu Named to All-Tournament Team

Sevierville, Tenn.- The Brevard College men’s golf team finished 6th at the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Golf Tournament this week at Sevierville Golf Club's River Course, led by Kim Koivu’s 6th place individual finish.

The Tornados shot a 928 at the three-day tournament to finish tied with Newberry College for 6th place, paced by Kim Koivu’s 223 (+7). The sophomore earned a spot on the Second Team All-Tournament Team with the performance.

Petter Lehmann also finished in the top 25 for the Tornados, carding a 233 (+17) for the tournament. The freshman recovered from an 80 on Sunday to shoot a 76 on Monday and a 77 on Tuesday.

Sami Vanni and Johan Nordahl finished tied for 32nd for BC with both carding a 239 for the tournament. Paul Calac rounded out the group with a score of 246, 30-over par to finish 39th in the field.

The Tornados shaved strokes each day, shooting a 311 on Sunday before carding a 309 and 308 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
