National Champion Tuttle wins Tornado Athlete of the WeekNovember 4, 2008
The Brevard College Sports Information Department is proud to announce that Women's Cyclist Jo Tuttle has been named Tornado Athlete of the Week for the tenth week of the athletic season. Tuttle earned 32 of the 51 votes cast by visitors on BCTornados.com, or 62.7%.
Tuttle finished as the women's individual overall National Champion as last weekend's USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships. Tuttle finished fifth in the cross country event, seventh in the short track race, second in the downhill, and first in the dual slalom to finish as the overall champion. Tuttle is the first individual national champion in BC Cycling history. Thanks to Tuttle's strong performance, the Tornado team finished fourth overall in the team competition, the best finish in school history.
