Gallowitch, Turner Tame Anderson, 1-0
The Tornados collected their fifth win of the season
BREVARD, N.C.- A Drew Gallowitch goal and a solid performance from freshman goalkeeper Heath Turner propelled the Tornados into the Brevard College history books while they claimed a 1-0 win against Anderson Tuesday afternoon at Brevard Soccer Field in Brevard, N.C. in South Atlantic Conference action.
The Tornados (5-8, 3-5 SAC) proved victorious for the third consecutive home match for the first time since becoming a Division II affiliate in 2008. The Trojans (9-4-2, 4-4-2 SAC) dropped their second consecutive 1-0 decision and saw their three-match win streak against BC snapped.
Sophomore Gallowitch provided the game’s lone goal in the 36th minute when he connected on a sliding kick following a pass from Jami Uuttu to best Anderson’s Bo Haug.
The Trojans had two opportunities in the 74th and 76th minute, respectively, but missed both wide left.
