BC Loses First TennisFest Match

HILTON HEAD, S.C.-  The Brevard College men’s tennis team couldn’t come up with the win in a 7-2 loss to Dalton State College on Sunday March 2nd at the Spring TennisFest.

Brevard was able to find success during the No.3 doubles set with Nathan Sabate  and George Finch winning 8-5 over Dalton’s Nikolay Nikiforov and Adam Hornby. The other two doubles sets were unable to gain a point for the team after Dalton defeated them 8-3 and 8-0.

Despite losing in doubles play, David Taggart was able to gain Brevard’s second point while competing against David Draghiceanu in number one singles. Taggart didn’t allow Draghiceanu to come close during play and took him in a 6-3, 6-2 win.

Brevard will compete on March 5th against Misericordia University in their second match of the Spring TennisFest at 4:00 p.m.
