Women's Tennis Falls Short to Mars Hill

BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College (3-6, 0-3 SAC) women’s tennis team was defeated 3-6 by Mars Hill University (4-7, 2-3 SAC)at the McCoy Tennis Complex on March 24.

Katie Daugherty and Michelle Prata weren’t able to gain a point during their No.1 doubles play but Nirvanna Silva and Claudia Hellman partnered up to defeat Anna Rickenbaker and Natalie Hilbig 8-4 in the No.2 doubles.

Jule Hermann and Ana Drummond came close to capturing the win over a Mars Hill duo at 9-8 during the No.3 doubles.

Nirvanna Silva and Ana Drummond came up with the two other points for BC while in their singles play. Silva competed against Hilbig again winning both sets 6-2 while Drummond faced a new opponent of MHU Grace Diepenbrick defeating her 6-4, 6-3.

The women will play at Carson-Newman on March 27 at 2:00 p.m.
