Men's Basketball Looks to Move to 2-0 Over Warren Wilson on Monday NightDecember 1, 2008
Brevard, N.C. – The Brevard College men’s basketball team will look to make it 2-0 on the season over Warren Wilson College on Monday night, as Coach Jones’ squad will travel to Swannanoa, N.C. to face off with the Owls for the second time this season. The tip-off, weather permitting, is set for 7 p.m.
The Tornados (3-1) will look to bounce back from suffering their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, a 60-42 loss to Belmont Abbey (4-0) in the battle of the unbeatens.
BC will look to regain their shooting form from earlier this season on Monday night, as the Tornados were ice cold on Saturday afternoon, shooting only 30 percent for the game.
In the first match up between the Tornados and the Warren Wilson Owls, the Tornados overcame a sluggish first half to dominate the second half and pick up the 70-42 win in their 2008-09 season opener.
The Tornados used a 25-0 run in the second half to pull help clip the wings of the Owls. Junior forward Jonathan Whitson, who has scored in double figures in every game thus far this season, led the Tornados with 29 points and 13 rebounds, both game highs, in the first meeting back on November 18 in Boshamer Gymnasium.
The game, weather permitting, is slated for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
