Lenoir-Rhyne Too Much for BCApril 5, 2014
BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College (3-9, 1-5 SAC) men’s lacrosse team lost 23-2 against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears (8-2, 5-1 SAC) as they hosted them on April 5 at the Tornados Lacrosse Field.
The Bears are currently ranked first in the South Atlantic Conference and continued to show their ranking as they put up a six goal run in the first quarter. BC eventually answered back at the 2:32 mark when Alsharif Blackman received a pass from teammate Ryan Taylor for a shot at the top of the box.
Brevard’s Andrew Reilly saw 58 shots while in goal. Of the 58 there were 39 on goal and Reilly came up with 16 saves. BC put up 12 shots against goalkeeper Alex Squires with nine on goal.
The second Tornados goal came at the four second mark of the first quarter, sending BC into the second quarter only down by five. The goal went in off a quick top corner shot from Mathew Dropuljic.
The Bears were led in goals by Jay Goldsmith, finishing the game with five while teammate Sam Ashton led the team in assists.
The Tornados will return back to BC when they play in their final regular season game on Saturday, April 12 against Queens University of Charlotte at 3:00 p.m.
