BC Celebrates Senior in 15-3 Loss vs. CokerApril 9, 2014
BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College (0-11, 0-5 SAC) women’s lacrosse team took on the Coker College Cobras (3-8, 2-3 SAC) on Wednesday, April 9 in a South Atlantic Conference battle, losing 15-3 at the Tornados Lacrosse Field.
The game recognized the programs first senior, Angela Canale, during half time. She joined the team a little late into the season but quickly became an asset for the team. "Her background of field hockey helped her pick up the game and learn quickly," spoke Head Coach Frank Rogers. She contributed three draw controls while also causing one turnover for the Cobras.
Canale assisted the second BC goal by passing the ball up to teammate Julia Gasston who was posted up in shooting position in front of the crease.
Julia Gasston tallied two goals and one assist for the game while Megyn Terrell added a goal at the 4:08 mark of the first half.
The Tornados held Coker to a 5-2 run in the second half after gaining four of the eight draw controls. Brevard also picked up 14 groundballs to finish the second half while the Cobras only came up with five.
Brevard will host their final home game of the season against conference leaders Queens University of Charlotte on Saturday, April 12. The two teams will battle for draw beginning at noon at the Tornados Lacrosse Field.
