Queens Sweeps Brevard

BREVARD, N.C.-  The Brevard College (5-11, 2-8 SAC) women’s tennis team was swept 9-0 while hosting Queens University of Charlotte (13-2, 8-1 SAC) at McCoy Tennis Complex on April 10.

Katie Daugherty and Michelle Prata came back from a large deficit to finish 9-7 in No.1 doubles against Christina Rustscheff and Melissa Laing. Daugherty continued to push against Rustscheff during No.1 singles after losing the first set 6-1 then winning the second 7-5. The final set put Queens ahead at 10-5 for the win.

BC continued to fall against their opponents during singles matches. Ana Drummand came back from a 6-1 loss in the first set to a 7-6 loss in the second during the No.6 singles.

Jule Hermann finished just steps behind in each set against Jaclyn Rock. The first set was a 6-3 loss for the Tornados player then a 6-4 loss.

Brevard will host Coker College this Saturday, April 12 while celebrating Senior Day for Michelle Prata beginning at 1:45 p.m.
