BC Women's Golf Signs First Ever Player in Alisiya Klochkova

Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College athletics department along with the head women’s golf coach Dave Nelson are excited to announce the signing of Alisiya Klochkova to a National Letter of Intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Brevard College beginning in the fall of 2008.

Klochkova is the first female golf signee in the history of Brevard College as the program will begin its inaugural year in 2008-09.
“Alisiya is the first female golf recruit in the history of Brevard College,” stated Coach Nelson. “I anticipate she will be a very productive team member over then next few years as we begin the building process of establishing ourselves at the Division II level.”
Klochkova, who comes to Brevard College by way of Russia, is a young player with great experience.  The National Russian Junior Team member finished second-place at the 2008 Moscow Championships and took fourth-place at the 2008 Russian Junior Open event. In 2005, Klochkova was the 2005 National Russian Tournament Champion.
“We are absolutely delighted to have Alisiya join our program,” commented Coach Nelson. “She has been competing at the national level in Russia as a junior golfer since 2004. Her experience and passion for the game will be a welcome addition to a new program that will compete at the NCAA Division II level in 2008.”
