Women's soccer adds three for 2009 season
Hovis, Graham, and Azevedo all commit to play for the Tornados
Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College Sport Information Department and Coach Juan Mascaro are pleased to announce that Allie Hovis, Hannah Graham, and Chantel Azevedo have all committed to attend Brevard College and play soccer beginning in the 2009-2010 season.
Hovis comes to the Tornados from Charlotte, N.C., where she played under Coach Jeff Mercado. The 5-6 forward was an All-Conference, All-Region, All-State member for the Knights. She was also named team MVP and is the leading scorer on the team. She was a member of the ODP State Team for three years. In her junior year, Hovis scored 21 goals and had 14 assists.
Hovis also plays basketball for the Knights.
Graham, hailing from Mooresville, N.C., played under Coach Jon Mertes at Lake Norman High School. The 5-2 Wildcats forward, lettered on the varsity soccer team for four years, and was a member of the two-time class 3A District Champions, as well as the 3A Sectional Champions.
Graham also plays basketball at Lake Norman.
Azevedo comes to the Tornados from Ontario, Canada.
The Brevard College women's soccer team went 6-12 (0-8 SAC) in their first season as full NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference members.
