Tornados cancel tennis, baseball matches

Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College tennis and baseball teams have both canceled upcoming matches, coaches Paul Thomson and Todd Anderson announced today.

The men's and women's tennis matches scheduled for Saturday, April 18 against Emmanuel College have been canceled because of scheduling conflicts. The Tornados netters now turn their attention to the quarterfinals of the South Atlantic Conference tournament, which begins April 20 for the men and April 21 for the women. The Brevard men (15-4, 5-3 SAC) have assured themselves of hosting a quarterfinal match, while the Brevard women (15-5, 5-3 SAC) are still in the running for a quarterfinal home match.

The Brevard baseball squad (10-26, 2-16 SAC) has canceled Tuesday's doubleheader with Virginia Intermont because of rain. Riding a two-game winning streak, the diamond nine is back in action tomorrow against King College. First pitch in Bristol, Tenn. is scheduled for 3 p.m.

None of the canceled matches will be rescheduled.
