Women's Soccer Welcomes New Assistant CoachAugust 6, 2009
Brevard, N.C. - Brevard College Athletics is proud to announce the addition of Caity Brown as assistant women's soccer coach. Brown will assist with player development and team operations. Coach Brown says she is excited for the opportunity to coach at Brevard College and looks forward to working with team.
"I am looking to push the girls and make them better athletes and soccer players. Brown says, "I want to help take this program to the next level"
Brown graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor’s of Social Work in the spring of 2009. While at Campbell, Brown was a member of the women’s soccer team and was awarded to the A-Sun All-Academic Team three of her four years as a student-athlete. She served as an instructor for various soccer camps including Campbell University’s Spring Break Camp and Summer Camp, as well as the Newport News FC Camp. Coach Shinohara welcomes Brown's youth and positive energy to the program.
"Coach Brown will be a great asset to the team. Having just completed her collegiate career, she brings a young positive energy to the staff." Says Shinohara, "Her good character and maturity give her the ability to advise players on and off the field."
Brown is a native of Yorktown, VA where she attended Grafton High School. During her high school career she was named All-District and All-Region four times, as well as being named All-State twice.
