Tornados hit the field for the first time in preparation for 2009 season

Brevard, N.C. – The Brevard College football team starts their 2009 season at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, as the Tornados hit the practice fields for the first time as the student-athletes participated in a series of drills, tests and a number of walk-thru sessions in preparation for the 2009 season opener.

Brevard opens the season on the road down in Jacksonville, Fla. this season on Saturday, August 29, at 5 p.m. as the Tornados take on NAIA opponent Edward Waters College.

The Tornados welcomed over 103 football student-athletes to campus on Wednesday and after a day of introductions, forms, meetings and pre-camp physicals, the team got to work early Thursday morning, knocking out running tests and conditioning drills all before mid-day.

After meetings in the early afternoon, the Tornados will hit the field running beginning practice with position stretching at 3:15 p.m. and wrapping up day one approximately at 6 p.m.
