M. Soccer falls to Division I UNC Asheville, 3-0

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Tornados fell to the Division I UNC Asheville Bulldogs by a 3-0 score despite holding them scoreless for the first 40 minutes of play.

With the win the Bulldogs begin their season 1-1, while the Tornados become 0-3.

The Tornados and goalkeeper Jack Shaw held the Bulldogs scoreless until Branden Lassen scored off of passes from Zachary Odum and Alex Koslick at the 39:59 mark to make the score 1-0.

Asheville scored within the first minute to start the second half. Following a Brevard foul, Connor Holzinger scored on a free kick for an unassisted goal that gave Asheville a 2-0 lead at 45:50.

Zachary Odum who would end the night with a goal and an assist made the score 3-0 at 72:04 after he took a pass from Alex Koslick and scored from the center of the box.

The Bulldogs took 15 shots with 5 on goal while the Tornados took 5 shots with 2 shots from Craig Galloway being on goal.

The Tornados play their second home game of the season on Sunday at 2pm against Coker.
