Parker Lewis cards even par to finish one stroke back for the tournament
Brevard, N.C. - The Tornados faced off with Mars Hill College at Glen Cannon this past Friday as Coach Bayne’s men’s golf team continued their fall season play.
The SAC opponents played each other close, but the Lions were able to squeak out the win, 298-300.
Parker Lewis led the Tornados, finishing second on the day, one stroke behind medalist Chad Skinner, with a 72, even par.
Thomas Bush carded a 74, two-over to finish in third, while Joshua Davis finished two strokes behind Bush with a 76, shooting a 36-40 over the round.
Thomas Rennie and Mike Jones rounded out the top ten, shooting rounds of 78 and 88 respectively.
Individually the Tornados placed five golfers in the field, with Zack Christy and Penn Thompkins leading the way with matching 92s.
Andrew Hall, Quint Dohrer and Chris Dixon also suited up for Brevard for the day, finishing in 15th, 16th and 17th to round out the group.
Brevard will head back to the links on Monday, October 19th, as the team finishes up the fall season at the Woodlake Golf Club in Tazewell, Tenn. as they participate in the Lincoln Memorial University Invitational.
