Badin, N.C. - Alisiya Klochkova continued her assault on the golf course at the Badin Resort & Inn at the Pfeiffer Intercollegiate, but was unable to overcome the leaders as the Tornados placed third in the event hosted by Pfeiffer University.
As a team, the Tornados dropped seven strokes off their first round total, finishing the event with a two round total of 695 to place third behind host Pfeiffer and Limestone College.
Klochkova recorded a second round 76 to finish two strokes behind tournament co-medalists Chelsea Demers and Steph Peareth, as the senior from Moscow, Russia, placed third in her second action on the season.
Marliana Garman also placed in the top 10, cutting five strokes off her total to finish with an 83, recording a two round score of 171 to finish 10th overall.
Emily Smith was four strokes behind after a seven stroke drop in her second round finishing with a 175 to tie for 11th, while Ashley Allen and Kelsey Wyatt narrowly missed out on top 20 finishes, placing 21st and 22nd overall respectively.
The Tornados are back on the course next week as they travel to Greeneville, Tenn. to take part in the Tusculum Fall Golf Classic. The two day event, hosted by Tusculum College, is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 26th.
