Bailey Varley nearly answered for the Tornados in the eighth minute but her shot from nearly 30 yards out was saved by Newberry goalkeeper Emily Rhoades.

Less than a minute into the second half, Newberry increased their lead to 2-0 off a brilliant play by Mandi Butler.
In the 54th minute, the lead was pushed to 3-0 as Sara Geisman’s corner kick sailed over the wall of Brevard defenders to an unmarked Amberly Fowler who put the shot in the goal.
