Brevard, N.C. - Darius Moose led all scorers with 14 points on Wednesday evening in Boshamer Gymnasium, but twelve Lincoln Memorial players found the basket as the Railsplitters topped Brevard, 84-43.
Lincoln Memorial (16-1, 6-1 SAC) opened up a 22 point lead in the first half and went up by as many as 41 as the Railsplitters defeated Brevard (2-14, 1-6 SAC) in Boshamer Gymnasium for the first time since the 2009-2010 season.
Moose led the Tornados with 14 points, going 5-for-8 from the floor while pulling down five rebounds in the loss. Alexsandar Vasiljevic added seven points and five rebounds, while Gaither Hendrix had six points and three rebounds as the Tornados fell to LMU.
Jake Troyli and Chance Jones led the way for Lincoln Memorial with 12 points apiece, while Vincent Bailey and Desmond Johnson added 10 as the Railsplitters built a 41-19 lead in the first half, before coasting to the victory. Lincoln Memorial shot 63.0 percent (34-54) from the floor in the game and held the 40-24 rebounding advantage in the contest.
Brevard remains at home as they welcome Wingate University to Brevard, N.C. on Saturday, January 21st. Tipoff for the SAC game between the Tornados and the Bulldogs is set for 4 p.m.
