Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College women’s soccer team recently took time to give back to the community, serving at Brevard Elementary School in Mrs. Cronin’s Class three days a week in the month of February.
The Tornados student-athletes were in Brevard Elementary on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from February 6 until February 29, where they helped tutor the students, as well as connected with them on an individual level while helping out the class.
Quotes from Brevard Women’s Soccer Players involved at Brevard Elementary:
"Tutoring students in English definitely put a smile on their face to know that they are able to look up to us," said freshman Ana Drummond. "I enjoyed being able to help out and make them a better student than they already are."
"Having the one-on-one experience with the kids made me feel like I had more of an impact on them," commented freshman Althea Dunn. "I was able to connect on a deeper level with the students individually as opposed to being in a big group. I hope that this opportunity will come up again."
Sophomore Lindsay Pritchard wrapped up the experience as this, "Working with Ms. Cronin's class was a pleasure. Not only did the kids I worked with work hard and learn new things, I too also walked away each day with something new that her class had taught me."
