Etowah, N.C. - Marliana Garman and Emily Smith closed out the first round of the Aramark Collegiate Invitational in a tie for 14th overall, while the Tornados are fifth after the first round played at the Etowah Valley Country Club on Monday afternoon.
Brevard finished the first round with a team score of 423, sitting behind tournament leader North Greenville, finishing fifth overall behind SAC rivals Lenoir-Rhyne and Mars Hill, as well as Erskine.
Garman finished with a first round score of 47-51, carding a 98 overall on the tournament’s first day to sit in a tie for 14th overall. Smith matched Garman’s final total, finishing the round with a 46-52 on the front and back nines.
Allie Hovis closed out the tournament in a tie for 20th overall with a first round score of 105, while Kelsey Wyatt finished the first day 23rd overall with a final score of 122.
Brevard and the remainder of the field close out the Aramark Collegiate Invitational tomorrow morning at the Etowah Valley Country Club, with final round action beginning at 9 a.m.
