Brevard, N.C. - The BC men's soccer team lost 1-0 to the Eagles of Carson-Newman after a second-half goal by Lucas Siqueira on Wednesday evening.
Siqueira gathered the rebound of a free kick that deflected off a wall of BC defenders to score at 68:04, punching the ball into the left side of the net.
Both teams put six shots on goal in the game, with the Eagles outshooting BC 14-10. Junior Montano put a pair of shots on goal in the first ten minutes as part of an early offensive barrage from BC, but Eagles keeper Rumwald Le Gueval was perfect in recording his fourth shutout of the season.
The match was extremely physical, with 28 fouls and four yellow cards called between the two clubs.
BC resumes South Atlantic Conference competition as they visit Lincoln Memorial to take on the Railsplitters at 3:30 p.m on Saturday, October 13th.
