Radford, Va.- The Brevard College Tornados fell to the Radford University Highlanders 81-53 in the Dedmon Center on Wednesday afternoon.
The Highlanders scored the first 17 points of the game, fueled by eight points from R.J. Price. The sophomore guard led all scorers with 20 points, including 6-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc.
BC answered Radford's hot start with a 20-11 run to pull within eight points on a three-point jumper from Manzey Miller with 5:27 remaining in the opening half.
Eight points, however, was the closest Brevard came in their effort to catch Radford. The Highlanders halted the BC run with ten unanswered points, and took a 43-25 lead into the break.
Three Tornados scored in double figures, led by Dominique Pickett's 18 points and five rebounds. Miles Leathers chipped in 16, and Miller finished with 11 points.
The Tornados open South Atlantic Conference action on November 28th as they visit the Carson-Newman Eagles in Holt Fieldhouse for an 8 p.m. tipoff.
