Brevard, N.C.-The Brevard College Cycling team returns to action May 3-5 as they travel to Ogden, Utah for the 2013 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships.
BC cyclists will compete with hundreds of the top collegiate cyclists for the 18 Stars-and-Stripes jerseys up for grabs. National titles in the time trial, criterium and road race will be contested in addition to the all-important individual and team omnium competitions.
Brevard will send cyclists including: Brandon Milet of Cambridge, N.Y., Lewis Gaffney of Angel Fire, N.M., Thomas Smith of Brevard, Nick Jowsey of Auckland, New Zealand, and Caleb Welborn of Benbrook, Texas for the men, and Erica Zaveta of Erwinna, Pa., for the women.
The Tornados will travel to Utah as reigning National Champions in Mountain Biking and Cyclo-cross.
“The whole team has been training and racing very hard in preparation, and I am confident that they will represent Brevard College very well,” said Head Coach Brian Sheedy.
