HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Brevard College men’s basketball team fell 108-80 to the Coker Cobras in Timberlake Lawton Gym on Saturday afternoon despite a game-high 26 points from Darius Moose.
The junior finished 11-of-19 from the field and 3-of-3 from three-point range while securing seven rebounds and distributing three assists, also team-highs for the Tornados.
The Cobras jumped out to an early 18-3 lead to start the game and never trailed on their way to the win. The Cobras shot a ridiculous 66.1 percent (41-for-62) from the field in the game, including 73.3 percent (22-for-30) in the second half.
Larry Felder had a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double in only 17 minutes off the bench to lead Coker, who had five scorers finish in double figures. Ten players saw action off a Coker bench that accounted for 68 points.
The Tornados managed four scorers in double figures, but had no contributions from their bench. Miles Leathers finished with 24 points while Trevon Shaw added 16 and Dominique Pickett chipped in 11.
The Tornados return to Boshamer Gymnasium as they host the Tusculum Pioneers on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. The game will be regionally televised by WMYA 40.
