HARROGATE, TENN.- The Lincoln Memorial women's basketball team (13-10, 12-7 SAC) pulled away from the Brevard College (7-16, 6-13 SAC) Tornados in the second half of an 87-59 loss at Tex Turner Arena on Wednesday night in South Atlantic Conference action.
Lincoln Memorial led by six points at the break and didn’t falter in the second half, going on an a 18-6 run to take a 30-point lead with 3:59 left in the game.
The Tornados started the game well, going up by as many as eight in the opening half before the Railsplitters took a 30-25 lead at the 4:57 mark in the first half after nine unanswered points.
The Tornados took back the lead on a Shelby Wolfe jumper with 1:45 remaining in the half, but the Railsplitters regained the lead on their next possession and led the rest of the way.
Katie Williams led the Tornados with 13 points with teammate Madison Lenox adding 11 points and five rebounds. Lenox joined Wolfe and Chelsea Turner with five rebounds each for the game.
The Tornados will play their next game on Saturday, February 22nd when they travel to Catawba for a tip-off at 2 p.m. at Goodman Gym.
