TORNADOS TOPPED DESPITE REILLY'S SEASON-HIGH

BELMONT, N.C.- The Brevard College (2-4, 0-1) men's lacrosse team couldn't keep up with non-conference foe Belmont Abbey College  (2-4) in a 13-3 loss on Wednesday afternoon despite a season-high 29 saves from goalie Andy Reilly.

The Delmar, N.Y. native anchored the defense, which saw 42 shots on goal and 45 shots overall. The junior topped his previous season-best of 27 saves, set on the road at Catawba on Saturday.

Ryan Taylor put in two goals for BC, placing his first in at the 7:59 mark of the second quarter after the Crusaders went on a five-goal run. The freshman added another goal with 1:14 left in the game.

Blair Alexandersen netted the Tornados other goal at the 8:17 mark of the first quarter.

Brendan Rogers  and Will Chastain both clipped in hat tricks to lead the Crusaders. Belmont Abbey ended the game with 39 groundballs compared to Brevard's 17.

Brevard found success at the face off line after splitting it between Alsharif Blackman and Kodi Roberts. The pair combined to win 10 face offs to Belmont Abbey's nine.

Brevard will host Tusculumn at the Brevard Lacrosse Field at 1 p.m  Saturday in their first South Atlantic Conference home game.
