BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard college (3-7, 1-3 SAC) men’s lacrosse team hosted the Florida Tech (2-6, 0-2 SSC) Panthers on March 22 in a non-conference game at the Tornados Lacrosse Field, resulting in a 16-5 loss for the Tornados.
The first quarter ended 3-2 in the Panther favor and quickly advanced after Tech scored three unanswered goals to start the second quarter. Ryan Taylor broke the Florida Tech run after placing in a goal for Brevard at the 7:00 minute mark.
Florida made it a game of runs continuing on a two goal run and shutting BC out during the third quarter then continued on another 3 goal run in the fourth.
CJ Nichols led his teammates scoring four for the Panthers with teammate Mike Marshner contributing three.
Alsharif Blackman broke up the fourth quarter contributing his second goal of the game with 28 seconds remaining. Blackman led the Tornados with two goals with teammates Robert Thornley, Ryan Taylor and Blair Alexandersen contributing one each.
Brevard attempted 25 shots during the game only putting 11 on target while Andrew Reilly faced Florida Tech’s 37 of 58 shots coming up with 21 saves.
Brevard will be compete in a South Atlantic Conference game at Byerly Park when they travel to play the Coker Cobras on March 29th.
