WALESKA, GA.- The Brevard College (0-8, 0-3 SAC) women’s lacrosse team lost 18-7 while traveling to Reinhardt University (11-3, 6-1) a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) affiliate, on March 26 at Ken White Field.
The Eagles took an early lead in the first ten minutes of the game until the the 17:22 mark of the game, the Tornados Madison Ellis received the ball off of the quick two pass transition from midfeld and took the ball to the back of the net making the score 8-1. Brevard was able to hold Reinhardt at nine goals until the 4:22 mark of the first half.
Brevard’s Emily Medvedeff and Julia Gasston scored to help with the team’s seven total goals while Ellis led with four goals individually.
Looking into the second half, the Eagles were held to seven goals while the Tornados placed in four.
The last goal for BC was accomplished on a man-up possession after the Eagle’s Brooke Haley received a yellow card for a dangerous shot with 2:29 left in the game.
Brevard’s loss keeps them in seventh place in the SAC while the Reinhardt win advanced them to second place in the National Women’s Lacrosse League of the NAIA in the South Region conference.
The Lady Tornados will travel to Coker College this Saturday for a conference match-up starting at 4:00 p.m.
