TRAVELER’S REST, S.C.- Brevard College golfer Sebastian Strehl earned a spot on the All-Tournament team at the Cliffs Intercollegiate earlier this week, tying for 5th overall with a 146 (+2) to lead the Tornados.
Strehl carded a 73 (+1) on Monday and Tuesday on The Cliffs at Mountain Park Golf Course (par 72, 7055). The freshman finished just six strokes behind tournament champion Josh O’Neal (140) of North Greenville.
Diego Ortiz had another solid performance for the Tornados, hitting a 77 (+5) on Monday and a 75 (+3) on Tuesday to finish in the top 20 at 18th.
Oskar Lundgren and Paul Calac shared 25th by carding a 154 (+10) for the two-day event. Lundgren hit a 77 (+3) both days while Calac carded an 80 (+8) on Monday before shaving six strokes for a 74 (+2) on Tuesday.
Sami Vanni finished a stroke behind Lundgren and Calac with a 155 (+11), while Luis Vega finished with a 165.
Brevard ended with a 606 to place 6th for the tournament, 17 strokes behind tournament champion North Greenville.
The Tornados now turn their focus towards the Tennessee River Rumble on April 7-8 in Loudon, Tennessee.
