Spartanburg, S.C. - Alyssa Caracena scored the game winning goal for the Tornados in overtime Wednesday night, leading Brevard to a 2-1 victory over Converse on the road.
The Tornados improve to 5-6, while the Valkries fall to 3-8.
Converse recorded their only goal three minutes into the game when a Tornado defender, attempting to defend a corner kick, headed the ball into the net.
The Tornados redeemed themselves and tied the game with a Chelsea Shew goal in the second half, but were unable to break the tie in regulation sending the game into overtime. Alyssa Caracena then scored the game winning goal within the first minute of overtime to give the Tornados the 2-1 Victory.
Jordan Box faced just two shots on goal saving one and allowing one goal. The Tornados shot seven times, all on target.
The team will return to action on Saturday, once again on the road, as they travel to King for another non-conference match up.
