2012 (Freshman): Played in 16 games, starting five times as a sophomore...Hit .240 (6-for-25) with two extra-base hits...Drove in three runs.
High School: Slade comes to Brevard from Providence, N.C. where he played at Eastern Alamance High School under Coach Randy Ballard. He was a two-time All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2009 and 2010, before receiving All-Conference honors in his senior season. He was also an All-Tournament team member at the Graham Invitational tournament, as well as an Academic All-Conference selection. In addition to baseball, Slade was a member of the Eastern Alamance football team. He also earned his Eagle Scout Award in 2009. He was on the All-Star team in American Legion (Post 63).
He is the son of David and Sherri Slade.
