Softball: Amanda Kamekona

Kamekona joined the Tornados in the fall of 2012 from Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. For the past two seasons, Kamekona has served as an Assistant Coach for the Saints softball program under Head Coach Jimmy Martin.

This past season, Kamekona helped guide Limestone to a 13-9 record in conference play and a third-place finish at the 2012 Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament.

Kamekona played softball at a professional level as a member of the PFX Tour from 2009-2011, and with the Carolina Diamonds in 2012.

Kamekona enjoyed an illustrious playing career at UCLA, earning NCFA All-American and All-Region honors in both 2008 and 2009. She was also twice named to the All-Pac-10 Conference First Team.

As a junior Kamekona led the Bruins in home runs, RBI’s, runs scored, doubles, and slugging percentage on her way to earning the team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player Award and an invite to the USA National Team.

Kamekona also played two seasons at Cal State Fullerton before joining the Bruins, earning All-Big West First Team honors as a sophomore.

In 2010, Kamekona earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UCLA .
