David Boyd joined the Brevard College Athletic Staff in Aug. 2013 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.
In his position, Boyd will be the primary athletic trainer for women's soccer and will assist in all varsity sports for the Tornados.
Boyd comes to the Tornados, having served as an assistant athletic trainer at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn. While there, he coordinated all care for the men's basketball team, provided practice and coverage to the team at home and on the road and Boyd brings experience with the Presagia Medical Documentation System.
Prior to Tennessee Tech, Boyd worked as a graduate assistant at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Penn. Boyd assisted with the football, wrestling and softball team. He assisted with NCAA drug testing by contacting athletes and organizing testing sites while gaining experience with Athletic Trainer System (ATS) and ImPACT concussion testing.
Boyd served as an assistant medical coordinator at the 2011 NCAA Women's Final Four, an assistant athletic trainer at the 2011 PSAC Wrestling Championships and as a volunteer athletic trainer at the 2010 Empire State Games.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education at West Virginia before earning a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership at Mercyhurst.
