Matt Bummer enters his fifth season as the Head Athletic Trainer at Brevard College after joining the Brevard College Athletic Training staff as the Interim Head Athletic Trainer in 2015.
Bummer earned his master's in advanced athletic training at North Dakota State University, where he served as the Athletic Training Graduate Assistant from 2013-15 by working directly with the baseball team and as an assistant with the school's wrestling program.
He has done a pair of intense internships with professional baseball organizations, doing two stints with the Arizona Diamondbacks and one with the Texas Rangers. Bummer also did an internship in Rochester where he assisted with the Athletic Training staff of the Rochester Honkers baseball team.
Bummer earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana, where he also worked in the Athletic Training department. As a student, he got experience working with football, men's and women's basketball, soccer, volleyball and track and field teams.
