BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Basketball team (1-0) makes its home debut on Thursday, November 15 as Berry College (1-0) pays a visit to Boshamer Gymnasium on the campus of Brevard College. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
The Tornados return to the mountains of Western North Carolina after a record-setting performance at Toccoa Falls College last Friday, November 9.
Brevard came away with an 89-43 victory against the NCCAA member institution in the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the Women's Basketball hardwood.
BC's 46-point margin of victory set the Brevard College NCAA-era school record for largest margin of victory, replacing the previous mark set last season against William Peace (33-point victory).
Brevard's offense was anchored by its 2017-18 leading scorer Annalee Bollinger. The senior guard poured on a game-high 20 points against Toccoa Falls, shooting 8-of-11 from the field including four three-pointers.
Brevard used an astonishing 52-13 second-half run to close our Toccoa Falls, which included two separate runs of 20-1 and 18-0.
The Tornados and Vikings are set to meet for the second straight season, as the two teams played for the first time ever to open the 2017-18 season.
Brevard prevailed by a 71-52 margin behind a 23-point performance by Bollinger. She finished 6-of-14 from the floor and 9-of-12 at the free throw line.
After BC's home opener, the Tornados head down to Greenville, S.C. to play the first of two games in 2018-19 against Bob Jones University. The action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 19.
Brevard College SAAC's Toy Drive: The Brevard College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting toys prior to Thursday's home contest against Berry College. The toys will be donated to the children's wing at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C.
