BEREA, Ky. - The Brevard College Women's Basketball team (9-14, 5-11 USAS) dropped a road USA Conference matchup, 61-41 to host Berea College (19-4, 14-1 USAS) on Wednesday evening at the Seabury Center in Berea, Ky.

Sophomore Destiny Williams led the Tornados with 11 points, hitting 2-of-3 shots from beyond the arc. Williams also led Brevard on the glass with a game-high eight rebounds.
No other Brevard College player scored in double figures, although the Tornado bench did deliver 18 points led by Krysta Davis (7 pts) and JaTasha Hollinger (6 pts).  Davis also tallied four rebounds.
Berea was led by Bailee Vanover, who scored a game-high 20 points and Kristin Barnes, who added 10 points.
The Tornados fell behind early and were never able to get their footing in the rematch of a 61-60 home loss on Jan. 2 at the Boshamer Gymnasium.  Berea led 16-8 after the opening quarter, then pulled away in the second period to take a 16-point lead into the halftime locker room.
Berea built a lead of 26 points in the third quarter, its largest of the game, and led by 25 heading into the final stanza.
The Tornados did outscore Berea 15-10 in the fourth quarter, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.
Berea outshot the Tornados 33% to 29% from the field and held a whopping 46-29 advantage on the glass.
The free throw line also favored Berea, which shot 20-of-23 from the charity stripe compared to 9-of-14 for Brevard.
The Brevard Women's Basketball team will play its final home game of the season on Saturday's Senior Day at 4 p.m. at the Boshamer Gymnasium.  Seniors Annalee Bollinger and JaTasha Hollinger will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
